Photo: Instagram/@mansurgavriel. Funny thing about Mansur Gavriel — it certainly didn’t invent bucket bags , block-heel sandals , or luxe leather totes. But somehow, MG’s version of each have managed to capture the zeitgeist in a way no other brand has. Whether it’s offering the right product adjust
the right time or great marketing, Mansur Gavriel is the master of making simple things wildly covetable — so much so that restocks of their hotly coveted styles consistently sell out in under 10 minutes. Blink and you’ll miss your chance — a panic-inducing scarcity that surely fuels the fashion world’s mania to buy, buy, buy.
Today, at its presentation at New York’s soothing, pink-carpeted Swiss Institute, the brand introduced several new styles that seem poised to inspire similar devotion. Two straight-from-the-’60s frame bags in glossy patent. If it weren’t for the modern grape and watermelon palette, we’d swear these were meant to dangle from a daintily white-gloved arm.
