Biometric verification made compulsory for transfer of vehicles
Excise Director Bilal Azam Khan stated that that the department has worked to provide a timely solution to various problems in available resources.
He added that the biometric system would not only bring transparency but also generate more revenue for the department as it would halt agents ' role in the transfer process. In addition to facilitating people buying or selling cars in the federal capital, he said the system would also benefit city residents when they try to sell their vehicles in another part of the country.
He tried to explain that the owner of a car registered in the federal capital, regardless of the city they were in, could go to the National Database Regulatory Authority (NADRA) office — the national identification data repository for all citizens of the country — closest to them where they can verify their identity and ownership of the vehicle.
